LTC Scholarships

The LTC Foundation offers need-based, merit-based, program-specific and general student support scholarships to new and continuing LTC students pursuing a degree or technical diploma in one of our 70+ programs offered.

Scholarship applicants are considered for all available opportunities with the submission of one online application each semester. 

The online application for student scholarships for Fall 2023 applications is now open. All applications must be submitted by June 15, 2023 to be considered for a Fall 2023 scholarship.

LTC Staff members have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to enhance their career development through the Dennis Ladwig Staff Development Scholarship.  A separate application is available by inquiry to scholarships@gotoltc.edu

Scholarship Categories

Agriculture, Energy, and Transportation

Awards $500 to a student in Agribusiness program. Requirements include GPA of 2.5 or better and full time enrollment.

Established in memory of Dennis Grace, this scholarship supports a student in the Automotive Maintenance program. Dennis taught Automotive Maintenance at LTC for 30 years and worked tirelessly to build the strongest program possible.  The scholarship funds a $2,000 award in both fall and spring semesters.  Requirements include financial need, a 2.5 cumulative GPA and instructor recommendation.

Awarded to a student in the Automotive Maintenance Technician program with a minimum GPA of 2.0 and enrolled in at least 10 credits.  Award amount is on a graduated schedule and student must continue to meet criteria to receive continuing awards. Awards range between $500-$1,250.

A $500 scholarship to support a student enrolled in a trade and industry program. Requirements include full time enrollment and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Awards $500 to a student enrolled in an Automotive Program. Requirements include a minimum GPA 2.75, enrollment in at least 9 credits, and completion of at least 2 semesters. Preference will be given to Sheboygan North High School graduates.

Awards $300 to a student in the Auto Maintenance Program. Requirements include enrollment in at least 8 credits, financial need, and has not received the scholarship in the past.

Awards two students enrolled in the Agribusiness Science and Technology program. Requirements include full-time status and a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Business and Technology

Awards $250 to a student in IT. Requirements include GPA of 3.2 or better, financial need, full time enrollment, participation in the LTC IT Club and at least one completed semester at LTC.

Culinary Arts

Awards $500 to a student in Culinary Arts program. Requirements include GPA of 3.0 or better, financial need and full time enrollment.

Scholarships for any Academic Area

Awards $250. Requirements include GPA of 3.0 or better, financial need and at least one semester completed.

Awards $500 at the discretion of the LTC Foundation.

Initiated by the four children of James L. and Mary Lou French in tribute to their parents’ legacy, the scholarship supports students from Sheboygan County regardless of degree program, age or full vs part time status.  Financial need is a factor. Scholarship can be renewed, based upon academic performance.

Honoring Jim Schild, a former LTC employee who highly valued a technical college education, this scholarship awards $250 to a student entering the second semester of any associate degree or technical diploma program. Student must have financial need and at least a 2.5 GPA.

Awards $500 to a graduate from Mishicot High School. Requirements include GPA of 2.5 or better and financial need.

Initiated by the Lakeshore Education Association to support a new student and a returning student each semester. Requirements include high financial need at least a 2.5 GPA.

Awards range from $500 to $1,000 to selected students of color. Applicants must submit a general scholarship application.

Awards $1,500 to a student enrolled in any associate degree program. Requirements include GPA of 3.0 or better, financial need, enrolled in at least 9 credits, Manitowoc County resident, and community service/volunteer experience.

LTC-Developed Scholarships

Funded by the Promising Futures Campaign, this scholarship supports multiple students who are enrolled in at least 9 credits in a degree program. Awards range between $500 – $1,500. Requirements include high financial need and at least a 2.5 GPA. Students age 24 or older within the academic year will be considered. Awarded at the discretion of the LTC Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.

Requirements include high financial need and a commitment to education. Awarded at the discretion of the LTC Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee.

Scholarship criteria includes completion of either GED or HSED through Lakeshore Technical College.

Awards $500 to a student in any Technical Diploma or Associate program. Requirements include GPA of 3.0 or better and full time enrollment.

Established by Dr. Dennis J. Ladwig, president emeritus of LTC upon his retirement after 39 years of service. This scholarship program will award $1,000 to $1,500 per year; with a minimum of $250 and maximum of $1,000 per award.  The LTC Foundation Scholarship Committee will coordinate the scholarship application process; funds will be disbursed directly to the award recipients through the LTC Foundation, Inc.

 

Main Objectives

 

  • Support Organizational Excellence: This staff development scholarship program will provide opportunities for LTC staff – management, faculty, and support – to enhance their effectiveness in meeting changing needs of students.  This is a concern for higher education, for WTCS colleges as well as for Lakeshore Technical College, and is a particular concern for individual staff members in their own career development.
  • Enhance Professional Development: The scholarship program will offer support specifically to enhance and refine skills and abilities most directly related to the mission and strategic directions of Lakeshore Technical College.

Health and Human Services

Requirements include enrollment in Nursing Associate Degree program with a minimum GPA 3.0.Student must be a Manitowoc County Resident, have completed at least one semester and have financial need.

Awards $500 to a student enrolled in a Healthcare Program. Requirements included a minimum GPA of 2.5 and financial need.

Awards $500 to a student that is a Sheboygan or Manitowoc County resident committed to the nursing program. Requirements include a GPA of 2.25 or higher, financial need, and enrollment in a 2 year associate degree program. Preference given to part-time enrollment.

An award of $500 is made possible by the generous support of LTC staff and alumni to students in health and human service programs who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement and professional goals.

Awards $500 to a student enrolled full time in the LTC Nursing Associate Degree program or Practical Nursing program. Requirements include a GPA of 2.8 or higher and financial need.

Awards $400 to a student entering their second year of the LTC Nursing Associate Degree program. Requirements include a GPA of 2.8 or higher and financial need.

Requirements include Manitowoc County resident enrolled in Nursing Associate Degree program, a minimum GPA of 3.0, financial need and completion of at least a semester.

Awards $500 to a student in Early Childhood program. Requirements include GPA of 3.25 or better, financial need, and at least one completed semester at LTC.

Awards $500 to a student enrolled in at least 9 credits in the Nursing program. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Awards $2,000 to a student enrolled full-time in the final semester of the Nursing Associate Degree program. Requirements include a GPA of 2.8 or higher and a commitment to the healthcare field.

Public Safety

Awards between $500-$1,000 to a student in a Public Safety program with a financial need.  Requirements include a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Awards $500 to a student in the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Program. Requirements include a GPA 3.0 or higher and full-time enrollment. Preference is given to veterans.

Awards $250 to a student in the first term of the Criminal Justice Program. Requirements include a minimum GPA of 3.0, enrollment in at least 9 credits and financial need.

Awards $500 to a full-time Sheboygan County student who is enrolled in the Fire Medic, Emergency Medical Tech or Paramedic Programs. Requirements include a minimum GPA of 2.5, financial need and participation in volunteer activities.

Trade and Industry

Awards $250 to a Manitowoc or Sheboygan high school senior entering the Electro-Mechanical Program with a 2.0 GPA or better.

Awards $300 to a student in Electro-Mechanical program. Requirements include financial need and half-time enrollment.

Scholarships awarded to students in CNC Tech program; variable amounts. Requirements include GPA of 2.0 or better, financial need, and enrolled in at least the second semester of the program.

Established in memory of Jerome C. Brendel, this scholarship supports a second year CNC student with a $1,000 renewable scholarship.  Requirements include financial need, a 3.0 cumulative GPA and enrollment of at least 9 credits.

Awards $500 to a Full-time T&I Manufacturing program student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and financial need.

Awards 2 scholarships that include full tuition, books and supplies to 2 students in Electro-Mechanical program. Requirements include being a new student in the Electro-Mechanical Associates degree program, a high school GPA of 2.5 or better, financial need and full time enrollment. Applicants should have a strong interest in employment with the Kohler Company. Renewable for program completion over a two year period. –Awards 2 scholarships that include full tuition, books and supplies to 2 students in Industrial Maintenance programs. Requirements include being a new student in either the Maintenance Technician or Maintenance Mechanic program, a high school GPA of 2.5 or better, financial need and full time enrollment. Applicants should have a strong interest in employment with the Kohler Company. Renewable for program completion over a two year period.

Awards $1000 to a student enrolled in one-year technical diploma manufacturing program. Requirements include a minimum GPA of 2.75 and must be 25 yrs or older.

Awards of $500 and $1,000 to two students enrolled in manufacturing associate degree program. Requirements include a minimum GPA of 2.75.

Established by the Nuclear Suppliers Association to train the next generation of nuclear industry workers.  The scholarship of $500 is awarded to a student in the Nuclear Tech program with a minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need.

Established by Dominion Energy to train the next generation of nuclear industry workers.  The scholarship of $750 is awarded to a student in the Nuclear Tech program with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Other requirements include living within the LTC District service area and enrollment in at least 6 credits.

Awards $500 to two Oostburg High graduates enrolled full-time in Machine Tool, Welding, Electro-Mechanical, Industrial Maint. or Supply Chain with a GPA of 2.5 or greater.

This $500 scholarship supports a student in the Mechanical Design Technician Associates Degree program. Requirements include a minimum enrollment of six credits and financial need.

Awards $500 to a current part or full-time student enrolled in Machine Tool Program. Requirements include a GPA of 3.0 or higher and financial need.

Awards $500 to a Sheboygan County full or part-time student that has completed at least one semester at LTC in a trades program.
